WASHINGTON, DC -- MARCH 31: From right: Howard students Khari Jackson, Siddiq Kancey and Victor Foreman get together in a Yahoo funded lab in the Engineering building to work on an app that they hope will be the next best thing. The students meet nearly everyday to move the project forward. Jackson is a TV&Film major, Kancey is a Communication Information Systems major and Foreman is a Computer Science major. Foreman's graduation is delayed by one year due to a financial aid error by the university. They bring their combined talents to an app designed to connect people with events near them using geo-location.
Founded in 1867, Howard University is one of the elite HBCU's in the country, but revenue and administration problems plague the instititution and threaten its status. (photo by Andre Chung for The Washington Post)
