WASHINGTON, DC -- 8/22/11 -- Master Lei Yixin, the sculptor responsible for the Mountain of Despair and the Stone of Hope at the memorial, stands in front of his work.....Soft opening for the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial on the National Mall. The memorial consists of a 30 foot granite sculpture of Dr. King, and a 450 foot long granite wall engraved with more than a dozen quotes from his speeches and sermons in a landscaped area along the Tidal Basin.....by André Chung #AC1_0699
