PORT-AU-PRINCE, -- 1/20/10 -- Hospital staff move a man off a stretcher onto a wooden pallet in the shade. A staffer said that this would most likely be his last day alive....General Hospital in Port-Au-Prince has roughly 1500 patients, but the number fluctuates up as high as 1800 as more patients are admitted, treated and released. A mostly volunteer staff of 35 - 40 treat the patients. There have been 150 amputations so far....A magnitude 7.0 earthquake rips through Port-Au-Prince, killing over 100,000 and destroying most buildings....
