PORT-AU-PRINCE, -- 1/26/10 -- Darbouze Laxima, 22, looks at the work of his good friend, Lyonel Elie, Jr. in his studio. The work depicts the history of Haiti, as the figure is one of the original Haitians, a Taino indian, along with various scenes of historical importance. Lyonel Elie, Jr. (aka Junior), 30, a Haitian artist, now lives in a camp at Frere de l'inscription Chretienne church in Petionville. He can see his house and studio from the camp and still has his work and materials in the home, but cannot sleep there. He's scratching out an existence now along with friends in his community...A magnitude 7.0 earthquake rips through Port-Au-Prince, killing over 100,000 and destroying most buildings....
