HAITI_EARTHQUAKE

PORT-AU-PRINCE, -- 1/27/10 -- Jean-Pierre Wilson, 24, wears a tee shirt created for him by Lyonel Elie, Jr. Lyonel Elie, Jr. (aka Junior), 30, a Haitian artist, now lives in a camp at Frere de l'inscription Chretienne church in Petionville. He can see his house and studio from the camp and still has his work and materials in the home, but cannot sleep there. He's scratching out an existence now along with friends in his community. Although his house is still standing, he lives in a tent within site of it. The concrete structure is not stable enough to sleep there. He's a visual artist and has his studio in his home with all his works, and can't leave them behind. He lives in a communal tent now with many of the young men in his neighborhood.......A magnitude 7.0 earthquake rips through Port-Au-Prince, killing over 100,000 and destroying most buildings....
